Should Remembrance Day be declared an official statutory holiday?
Of course not, we have more than enough holidays in a country where the work ethic has taken a nose dive. We have Remembrance Sunday, nearest one to November 11th, and that is the time those of us who care will visit a memorial service and/or watch the service at the Cenotaph. Half the people in schools and supermarkets cant be bothered to stand for a two minute silence on November 11th at 11.00 am so why should they have a holiday? What have they done to deserve it, other than veterans of wars ? Answers on a postcard !
